The Bahlun

The Bahlun are floating plants that populate the skies throughout the kingdom of Shameyim. They possess a bulb that contains water inside, and when heated by the sun's warmth, the plant becomes buoyant. This happens because the water inside the bulb turns into vapor when heated, causing the plant to float. However, during the night, the Bahlun typically rest on the ground, where they replenish the water inside their bulbs thanks to the moisture in the air and the lower temperatures in the desert.

These plants retain their roots, which they embed in the sand when resting on the ground, allowing new bulbs to grow from them. It's said that if you get lost in the desert, you can quench your thirst with the bulbs of these plants, as they can store 1 to 2 liters of water inside them.
