Barretto
The Barretto is a reptile capable of burrowing into the sand and staying underground in its subterranean burrows for days. These small reptiles from Shameyim measure around 20-40cm and primarily feed on Bahlectios and Bahlun.
They take advantage of desert sand by chewing it and creating a solid mixture from sand and saliva to use as projectiles for hunting their prey. Barretto reptiles aim for the air cavities of these living creatures, puncturing them and causing them to fall to the ground, where they can then consume them.
Likewise, the sand and saliva mixture is used to create their subterranean burrows by solidifying the sand, allowing them to make long tunnels in the underground. The color of their scales mimics the sand, aiding them in camouflage when they emerge from the sand, as they have many predators in the desert.
